Senior WordPress Developer (Remote, Mexico)
About Us
Polymorphic is a software development company that builds high-performance, scalable web solutions for startups, agencies, and enterprises. We specialize in delivering both custom and platform-based systems with an emphasis on maintainability, speed, and clean architecture.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior WordPress Developer with deep expertise in both modern and classic WordPress development. You should be comfortable using popular page builders like Elementor, Divi, and WP Bakery—but also capable of building fully custom themes using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and WordPress’ native APIs.
You’ll work closely with our design team to convert Figma designs into fully dynamic, editable WordPress themes that empower clients to manage their own content. A strong understanding of WordPress’ template hierarchy, custom post types, performance optimization, and caching strategies is critical. You must also be experienced with Git-based version control, working locally using WP Local, and migrating sites across environments.
Strong PHP skills are essential. You should be confident extending WordPress functionality using hooks, filters, and clean custom code.
While not required, candidates with design skills are strongly preferred. If you can take a rough idea and turn it into a polished layout—then build it—we’d love to hear from you.
This role requires availability during standard working hours in the Pacific Timezone (PST/PDT). All work is managed in Jira and communication is handled in Slack. We bill clients hourly, so you must be highly organized and enter your time daily with accurate notes.
